Coach Stores: Landmark Flagships, Boutiques and What to Expect
Based on Tapestry’s annual report, Coach operated 973 directly operated stores at the close of its 2026 fiscal year on 27 June 2026. That total breaks down into 336 stores in North America and 637 internationally. Another figure in circulation, about 1,299 stores, applies to all of Tapestry’s brands as a group, not to Coach on its own. Looking forward, Tapestry has reportedly said that around 50 net new Coach stores are in the pipeline for fiscal 2027, with roughly three quarters of them located outside North America. Inside that estate you will find flagship Coach House locations, ordinary full-price boutiques, department store concessions and Coach Outlet stores. For that reason, a search for a coach store could surface anything from a multi-floor flagship to a unit in an outlet village. Working city by city, this guide looks at the most thoroughly documented locations and flags each place where a store’s current status has yet to be confirmed.
| Location | Format | Latest status in September 2026 | Good to know |

New York: Coach House on Fifth Avenue
Founded in New York in 1941, Coach keeps its best-known flagship in the city where it began. To celebrate the brand’s 75th anniversary, the Coach House at 685 Fifth Avenue was unveiled in the fall of 2016. It was reported at about 20,000 square feet across three floors, created with William Sofield’s Studio Sofield. Even so, the address is not a permanent home: Coach has reportedly signed a lease for about 13,200 square feet at 645 Fifth Avenue for a planned Coach House. Coach has set 2027 as the target for the intended move, while David Yurman is reported to have leased the 685 Fifth Avenue space and is expected to open there in early 2029. Whether the current store is still trading on a given day coach signature canvas has not been confirmed, so look at Coach’s store locator before a dedicated trip. The locator also shows a Coach store at 20 Hudson Yards, close to Tapestry’s headquarters at 10 Hudson Yards.
London: Coach House on Regent Street
Opened in 2016 as a global concept store, London’s Coach House sits at 200–206 Regent Street. Just like the New York flagship, it was designed with Studio Sofield, which explains the family resemblance between them. Press coverage from the launch described a Craftsmanship Bar for monogramming and personalisation. Made-to-order Rogue pieces reportedly take around 12 weeks, or about 16 weeks for exotic skins, with a Made to Order bar for the Rogue bag reported as well. One retail-district listing displays a much later page date, which has led some writers to give the wrong opening year. According to a published transcript of Tapestry’s August 2026 earnings call, the company said the UK, plus some wholesale business, is the only part of Europe where Coach has material market penetration. If you intend to book a personalisation appointment, it pays to confirm which services are currently offered before visiting.
Tokyo and Ginza
Coach’s flagship in Japan is found in Tokyo’s Ginza district. The first Japanese flagship opened its doors there in 2002, and the store was refurbished in 2015. Reports of the relaunch say that the studio CURIOSITY reimagined the store, which reopened on 19 December 2025. Japan also matters for services, because select Japanese stores reportedly join the Coach (Re)Loved trade-in exchange. That scheme reportedly accepts gently worn all-leather retail bags while ruling out outlet items and canvas pieces. Ask the store before bringing a bag along, since the Japanese stores involved have not been confirmed. Opening times and available services should be checked shortly before a visit, as with every flagship in this guide.
Greater China: A Dated Shanghai Record, Plus Hong Kong and Chongqing
Coach’s large stores in Greater China are less well recorded than those in New York or London. A now-dated record states that a flagship of about 7,000 square feet launched on Huai Hai Middle Road in Shanghai in April 2010. Its current status could not be confirmed, so do not assume the Shanghai store is open today. Coach has also been reported to operate a global flagship in Hong Kong and a two-storey glass flagship in Chongqing. Opening dates for those two stores also went unverified. Of Coach’s 973 directly operated stores, 637 are international, but the annual report does not break that figure down city by city. Travellers should rely on Coach’s local store locator rather than dated press coverage when planning a visit.
UK Boutiques and Concessions
Coach’s UK store locator separately lists full-price stores beyond Regent Street, namely at Westfield London in White City and Westfield Stratford City. Other London locations include St Pancras and the Promenade Level at Canary Wharf. The listed full-price store beyond London is at the Bullring in Birmingham. Coach also sells through concessions inside Harrods in Knightsbridge and Selfridges on Oxford Street, where a Coach Playground space has been promoted. No confirmed store was found in Manchester, Edinburgh or other cities, so check before presuming a local branch exists. For those searching coach uk locations, the rundown above covers the documented full-price options as of writing. Each listed store has its own page on Coach’s UK website, which is the safest place to confirm hours and services.

Coach Outlet Stores
Far from being independent discounters, Coach Outlet stores belong to Coach’s own network, and Coach identifies them as outlets in its store locator. Outlet centres are where you will usually find these stores, and Coach has reportedly opened Coach Coffee Shop concepts at Jersey Gardens and Woodbury Common in the United States. In Britain, Coach Outlet stores are verified at Bicester Village, Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet and Ashford Designer Outlet. A store at York Designer Outlet has been reported but not confirmed, so confirm before making the journey. Outlet stock is partly produced for the outlet channel, and the only share figure found, around 85%, goes back to 2014, so today’s mix is unknown. Under the reported “One Coach” strategy, the assortments also include some full-price collection product, as well as earlier-season styles. Because promotions change and coupon-site sale calendars could not be verified, review current offers before planning a coach outlet trip.
What You Will Find Inside a Coach Store
A regular full-price coach store puts the focus on the current handbag range, while also stocking small leather goods, clothing and shoes. The Tabby was introduced in 2019, the Brooklyn debuted in August 2024 and the Empire Carryall arrived in February 2025, and the three rank among the recognisable bag families in 2026. In the US, a Tabby 26 was spotted at $475 and an Empire Carryall 34 at $450, but these are market observations, not an official price list. Customers can access the (Re)Loved trade-in at North America retail stores plus select UK and Japan stores, so it is worth asking whether a particular store takes part. One membership works across both formats, since Coach Insider, the free loyalty programme, reportedly covers both Coach and Coach Outlet. Because Coach says it does not authenticate merchandise, a receipt from a Coach store is useful proof of where a coach bag came from. Leading the creative side is Stuart Vevers, who still holds the Creative Director role in 2026; his appointment was announced in June 2013.
Planning Your Visit
Especially while the New York flagship prepares to move, a little preparation prevents wasted journeys. The best first step is Coach’s store locator for the country you are visiting, because it separates full-price stores from Coach Outlet locations. Check your bag is all leather rather than canvas, and that the specific store is part of the scheme, if you want a trade-in. Check in advance whether the personalisation or made-to-order service you want is running. Visitors to Britain should note that tax-free shopping for tourists in Great Britain was withdrawn on 1 January 2021, so there is no VAT refund to count on. Should questions arise later, a receipt shows where a bag was bought, so keep every one. Deals change often, so check current promotions before travelling a long way to an outlet centre.
- On the day of travel, check the store locator.
- Verify trade-in participation and eligibility.
- Arrange personalisation services ahead.
- Keep a receipt for each purchase.
